The Community Relations Division works to increase awareness of city events, programs, and services. Goals of our division include promoting a positive, vibrant image of the city to existing and prospective residents, businesses and the media as well as generating civic pride and confidence in the city's future.
Major projects include City Happenings newsletter, website maintenance, social media updates, news releases, Evergreen Awards program, lodging tax grant funds, community partnership agreements, promotion of city events, and city presentations.

Assuming power is available, in the case of an emergency we will try to keep our Facebook and Twitter sites updated frequently and we will also utilize our "Notify Me" list serve tool. In the "Notify Me" menu, sign up for Public Safety and Health announcements in the Alert Center.
During catastrophic events such as a major earthquake, we may work with local media and utilize posting and gathering sites in the city such as the Recreation Pavilion (5303 228th Street SW), Post Office (23210 57th Avenue W), Civic Center/Library (23300 58th Avenue W), schools, shopping centers and churches.
